(fam. rubiaceae).

action: to remove heat from blood and arrest bleeding, 

to eliminate blood stasis, and to stimulate menstrual discharge.

indications: spitting of blood, epistaxis, abnormal uterine bleeding, 

traumatic bleeding; amenorrhea with blood stasis; arthralgia, 

traumatic swelling and pain.
